Heatherdowns Early Learning Center and Kindergarten is conveniently located on Glendale Avenue at Byrne Road in Toledo. The center enrolls children from 6 weeks through kindergarten age, and also has a before and after school program available throughout the school year for children attending Crossgates Elementary. During the summer months, we have an awesome program for our school age children.
Heatherdowns Early Learning Center uses The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Preschool, a theory and research based curriculum which is aligned with Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards. Children learn through a variety of methods and learning centers each day!
Members of our staff have over 20 years in child care industry so there is a wealth of experience working with children.
Our staff is highly trained and qualified. Many of our teachers possess Bachelor's degrees specifically in Early Childhood Education. All teachers are required to participate in various in-service classes on a regular basis such as First Aid, CPR, Prevention Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse.

Tina Madden
Lead Administrator Tina has been with Heatherdowns since 1978, and has over 20 years of experience in early childhood administration. She spent her first 12 years as a lead preschool teacher and pre-kindergarten teacher. Tina was instrumental in our corporation's implementation of the Early Learning Initiative guidelines and earning the "2 Star" recognition with Ohio's Step Up To Quality rating system. She has achieved a Level III status in Career Pathways. She has been nominated for Administrator of the Year in the Shining Stars competition and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Above all, Tina is devoted to bringing theory into practice ensuring excellence in our school readiness program.
